These terms govern your use of the Secret Santa app ("the App," also shown in-app as "Santa's Secret Service"), developed by David Hsieh. By using the App, you agree to these terms.
The App helps you organise a gift exchange: you create a group, add participants, optionally set who can't be matched with whom, and the App randomly assigns each participant a recipient. Each participant is then emailed their assignment.
The App sends assignment emails through a third-party email provider. We confirm when an email has been accepted by the mail provider for delivery — we do not and cannot guarantee that it reaches an inbox, is not filtered to spam, or is read. If a participant doesn't receive their email, you can resend it to them individually from within the App.
The App offers an optional Premium subscription, which unlocks the ability to create more than one group at a time. It is auto-renewing and billed and managed entirely through your Apple ID / App Store account. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings app under your Apple ID. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period; refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's own policies, not by us directly.
Elite was a legacy one-time purchase, no longer available for sale. If you purchased it, it continues to unlock the same features as Premium for as long as your Apple ID retains the purchase — nothing further to renew or manage.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the names, email addresses, and other details you enter — including for participants you add on someone else's behalf. Use the App only for its intended purpose of organising gift exchanges.
The App is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that matching, storage, or email delivery will always work as expected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including a gift exchange not going as planned due to a delivery or matching issue.
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version will always be posted at this URL.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Users in the EU, UK, or California retain any rights granted by their local consumer-protection and privacy laws; nothing in this clause overrides them.
